Superbolt® multi-jackbolt tensioners (MJTs) are direct replacements for conventional nuts. The tensioner threads onto a new or existing bolt, stud, threaded rod, or shaft, and a ring of small jackbolts in the nut body generates the clamp load. Tightening those jackbolts with standard hand tools produces very high, accurate preload with no hydraulic equipment, heat, or oversized torque wrenches.
